Annual General Meeting
This year's AGM (2007) will be held in The Arts Centre on Wednesday 30th May at 7.30 prompt.
50th Anniversary Concert
Following on from the huge success of our fund raising concert in The Village Theatre last November, 2006 we are going to stage a concert in September, 2007 which will be exactly fifty years from our very first concert in 1957, September Song.
I am sure you will agree that this is a very exciting moment in the history of the club and will endeavour to support this event in any way you can.
Rehearsals for the concert will start on Wednesday 18th April at 7pm in Claremont High School and continuing on each Wednesday following that date. There is a possibility that a couple of extra rehearsals will be required nearer to the Concert depending on how rehearsals are going.
Important dates include:
18th April - first rehearsal
September - 50th Anniversary Concert (exact date to be arranged)
Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in EKLOC's recent production of, My Fair Lady
EKLOC is proud to report that My Fair Lady was one of our most successful shows ever. We played to capacity audiences on every night except Monday but every audience was fantastic. Indeed, even although the auditorium wasn't full on Monday, I'm sure the whole club will agree that the excellent opening night audience helped us get the week off to a flying start! Going by the wonderful feedback we received from regular EKLOC patrons and newcomers alike, the club has a strong foundation on which to build its future.
Next year's show will be, Fiddler On The Roof
Next year EKLOC will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary of full-scale musical productions by presenting the hugely popular musical, Fiddler On The Roof. This musical is based on a series of short stories (by Yiddish author Sholom Aleichem) which have milkman, Tevye as the protagonist (Tevye and his Daughters was published in 1894). Indeed the musical was originally entitled simply, Tevye.
Our production of Fiddler On The Roof is scheduled for 3rd - 8th March 2008. Tickets will be available later this year.
